These pure silver facial teishin's are hand-made one at a time in Nayarit, Mexico by a dear friend of Bob Quinn, our Blue Poppy blogger. The artist is a popular local silversmith with a fine sense for design. He works in a small local arts community coop in San Pancho, Nayarit. The teishin show his familiarity with the Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi in which asymmetry and slight irregularities are favored over perfectly machined symmetry. The idea behind this style is that this is the way of nature.
Length is about 3 inches.
