In 2021 Blue Poppy created a new Community Health Initiative (CHI, bringing energy to local nonprofits) to support its mission of improving health and reducing and preventing disease, especially within our local communities.

To further this objective, we donated 10 cents for every bottle of Blue Poppy internal herbal formula sold to help health-related nonprofits succeed.

Central City Concern of Portland, Oregon
Originally founded as the Burnside Consortium in 1979, Central City Concern has grown into several local medical facilities and housing options, Blue Poppy's donation to Central City Concern helped their clients overcome barriers, such as a lack of affordable housing, health care and living-wage jobs, systemic racism, mental health challenges, chronic health conditions, substance abuse disorders, and time spent in the justice system.

Free Range Health of Marysville, Washington
Founded in 2012, to provide low-cost acupuncture to communities in need and to create Public Service Loan Forgiveness-eligible jobs for acupuncturists. Blue Poppy's donation to Free Range Health provided five, $500 patient scholarships towards acupuncture services and/or herbal formulas.

Crossroads Acupuncture of Las Cruces, New Mexico
Blue Poppy's donation to the Crossroads Community Supported Healthcare and the Barefoot Acupuncuture Movemment, a non-profit since 2013, helped underserved groups build resiliency through acupuncture. In addtion to supporting the growth of clinics for the homeless, for people with addictions and psychiatric problrms, Crossroads also trains nurses and counselors how to offer acu based care within jails, hospitals, recovery programs, refugee care, and diaster relief.

Healing Warriors Program in Fort Collins, Colorado
Established in 2012 as a registered VA Vendor organization and Platinum GuideStar Charity serving the veteran community and their families, Blue Poppy's donation to the Healing Warriors Program provided alternative medical care that integrated with a service member's standard medical care in order to achieve the individual's wellness goals and restore quality of life.

Project Access NOW in Portland, Oregon
Blue Poppy's donation furthered Project Access NOW's overall mission established in 2007 to our help our Portland communities' health and well-being by creating access to care, services, and resources for those in need. Project Access NOW connects low income uninsured people to donated health care by coordinating a network of volunteer physicans and other health care providers.

Acupuncture Relief Project in Portland, Oregon
A volunteer-based organization, Blue Poppy's donation supported the Acupuncture Relief Project's mission to provide free medical support to those affected by poverty, conflict or disaster while offering an educationally meaningful experience to influence the professional development and personal growth of compassionate medical practitioners. Since 2008, the Acupuncture Relief Project has provided over 300,000 treatments to patients living in rural villages outside of Kathmandu Nepal.

Community Wellness Collaborative in San Diego, California
Since 2007, Community Wellness Collborative has provided over 28,000 free holistic healing serices to underserved populations of San Diego. Blue Poppy's donation will continue to allow community members to access free wellness services like acupuncture, naturopathic medical consults, chair-based yoga, and more.

Acupuncturists Without Borders in Portland, Oregon
Arguably one of the most well-known acupuncture non-profits, Acupuncturists Without Borders (AWB) has provided disaster relief, recovery and support for buiding resiliency - to communities afftected by disasters, human conflict, environmental devastation, poverty and social justice since 2005. Blue Poppy's donation to AWB will help fund one of several projects both nationally and internationally.
