One of the most important skills that any acupuncturist can have is the ability to relieve pain. While our schools give us basic training in the use of needles and an introduction to using adjunctive therapies such as moxa, cupping, external herbal applications, and bleeding, few programs cover these areas of practice in detail. If you didn’t learn enough about these therapies in your acupuncture training, take this course and improve your clinical effectiveness by learning more about these often neglected but very powerful techniques.
This course covers:
- What you must know about pain to treat it effectively
- How to use root and branch treatments together to conquer pain
- When to use and when not to use: needles, moxa, cupping, bleeding, seven star hammer, and massage
- Blood stasis signs, symptoms, and treatments
- Bleeding techniques and when they’re appropriate
- Special moxa points and their specific uses
- Cupping techniques and applications
- How to do channel-based diagnosis
- Safe blood-handling techniques
- How to use a dozen types of heat therapy and when each is most applicable
- Treating complex and chronic pain: what to do when all else fails
Plus: more than 100 pages of notes, translations, research, treatment materials, and instructional DVD
