Bob Flaws starts this class with an overview of Chinese medical theories describing sleep and wakefulness. Based upon these theories, Bob outlines the key Chinese medical mechanisms of insomnia and describes acupuncture and Chinese medicinals protocols for the most commonly seen patterns. In particular, Bob discusses the issue of proper timing of acupuncture and Chinese medicinals for achieving the best therapeutic effects. He also discusses a pattern that’s not usually listed in beginner’s textbooks even though it’s commonly seen in real-life clinical practice. This is the little-known pattern which accounts for most stubborn, enduring, and recalcitrant insomnia which has not responded to all the usual Chinese remedies.
